  1. Due to the fact that the Jews had become deaf and blind to the words of God and deviated from the teachings of Musa (Moses – Peace be upon him) and the right path, Allah honoured Jesus Peace be upon him with Prophethood and sent him as a messenger to the children of Israel.

Bearing all hardships Prophet Jesus Peace be upon him spent all day and night conveying the message of Allah. Unfortunately, in spite of his tremendous effort the children of Israel did not respond and accept the message. Seeing that the poor and weak were becoming inclined towards him and fearing they would lose their leadership the Jews secretly tried to kill him. However Allah saved Prophet Jesus Peace be upon him from their wicked scheme and gave him greater dignity by raising him alive to the heavens.

Allah says in the Quran, “They did not kill him and nor did they crucify him but the resemblance of him (Jesus Peace be upon him) was put over another man and those who differ there in, are in doubt. They have no certain knowledge. They are following nothing but conjecture for surely they did not kill him but Allah raised him up to him.”(Surah Nisa)

Allah says in the Quran “When Allah says, Jesus; I will take thee to me and I will purify thee of the unbelievers.” (Surah A’li-Imran)

These verses clearly prove that the Jews did not kill Prophet Jesus Peace be upon him and that he was raised alive to the heavens. It is due to verses like those mentioned above and many authentic Ahadith we Muslims believe that Prophet Jesus Peace be upon him is alive in heaven at this moment in time. We further believe due to the following verses and authentic Ahadith that Prophet JesusPeace be upon him will return before Qiyamah and his return is a major sign of Qiyamah.

Allah says in the Quran, “And he (son of Mary) shall be a known sign for (the coming of) the hour.” (Surah Zukhruf)

Ibn Abbas radiallahu anhuma has said that the meaning of this verse is that Prophet Jesus’s Peace be upon him descent before Qiyamah is a sign of Qiyamah. (Ibne Abbas/ Musnad)

Allah says, “There is not a single section of the people of the book that will certainly believe in Jesus before his death and on the Day of Resurrection he will be a witness against them.” (Surah Nisa) This verse clearly indicates that before the demise of Prophet Jesus Peace be upon him everyone from the people of the book will believe in him. The Jews will disappear as Jews after his demise but at the present the Jews are very much there. The conclusion is clear that the Prophet Jesus Peace be upon himhas not died; if so all the Jews would have become believers, which they have not. He will return before Qiyamah and it is then that all the people of the book will believe in him.

Jabir (radiallahu anh) reported that the Messenger of Allah salallahu ‘alayhi wasallam said, “A party of my followers will not cease to fight for victory until the Day of Resurrection. Then Jesus, son of Mary, will come down. Their Imaam will say, “Come and lead our prayer” He will reply, “Some of you are rulers over others on account of divine honour upon these people.” (Muslim)

Abu Huraira (radiallahu anh) reported that the Messenger of Allah Peace and blessings be upon him said, “By the one whose hands my life is in, surely the son of Maryam (Peace upon her) will descend amongst you as a just ruler. He will destroy the cross, kill the swine and abolish the tax.” (Bukhari)

Hadrat Hudaifah ibn Osaid reported: The Holy Prophet Peace and blessings be upon him suddenly came to us while we were talking. He asked, “What are you talking about?” They replied “We were talking about the last hour.” The Prophet (salallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, “It will never come until you see ten signs before it,” He then mentioned the Smoke, the Dajjal, the Beast, the Rising of the Sun in its place of setting, the Descent of Jesus son of Mary and Yajuj and Ma’juj. (Muslim)

Prophet Jesus’s (Peace be upon him) Tasks

Prophet Jesus Peace be upon him will have three main tasks, when he descends on the Earth for the second time:

    1) The first and most important will be that he will destroy the Dajjal.

    2) Protect the Muslims from the barbarous tribes of Yajuj and Majuj by taking them to Mount Tur and then Praying for their (Yajuj and Majuj’s) destruction.

    3) Reign as a Khalif according to the Quran and Sunnah and elevate Islam.

Prophet Jesus’s (Peace be upon him) descent and the killing of Masih ad-Dajjal

The Dajjal (anti-christ) having failed to enter the holy city of Madinah will proceed to Syria gathering his forces on the way.

Imaam Mahdi will have arranged the Muslim army and will be on the verge of leading the Muslims in the morning prayer (Abu Umamah / Ibn Majah) when Prophet Jesus Peace be upon him will descend to the white Minaret (Nawwas-b-Samaan/Muslim) in the east of Damascus, wearing two garments died with saffron, placing his hands on the wings of two angels.

All those that are present will recognise him, as he will look exactly like the how the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him) described Jesus (peace be upon him). Resembling the Sahabi Urwa bin Masood (Abu- Huraira/ Muslim) the colour of his skin will be reddish white (Ibn Abbas/ Bukhari), he will be well built and his hair will be soft and reach his ears. When he lowers his head, beads of perspiration will fall from it and when he raises his head, beads like pearls will scatter from it. (Nawwas-b-Samaan/Muslim).

Every Kaafir (disbeliever) who smells his sweet breath will die and his breath will reach as far as he can see. On seeing prophet Jesus Peace be upon him, Imaam Mahdi will take a couple of steps backwards so Prophet Jesus Peace be upon him can lead the prayer however Prophet Jesus Peace be upon him will place his hands on the Imaam’s shoulder and will say, ”Go forward and lead the prayer as the Iqamah was made for you” thus Imaam Mahdi will lead the prayer. (Abu Umamah/ Ibne-Majah).

After the prayer Prophet Jesus Peace be upon him will say, ”Open the gate.” The gate will be opened and the Dajjal will be waiting behind it accompanied by an army of 70,000 Jews, each armed with a sword and shield. The Dajjal on seeing Prophet Jesus Peace be upon him among the Muslims will begin to dissolve like salt in water and will begin to flee.

Prophet JesusPeace be upon him will say to him, ”You will remain alive until I strike you with my spear.” He will catch up with him at the Eastern gate of Ludd (Ludd is a mountain in Syria. Some say that it is a village in Jerusalem, and some say that it is a village in Palestine) and then Prophet JesusPeace be upon him will kill him with a small spear.

The Muslims will thereafter defeat and wipe out Dajjal’s army. The Jews will not be able to hide behind anything on that day. Every time they try to hide behind a stone, a wall, a tree (except a boxthorn tree), or animal. Allah will make these things speak and they will say, ”O servant of Allah there is a Jew hiding behind me. come kill him.”

The Wisdom in the Descension of Prophet Jesus (Peace be upon him)

The Ulama of the Ahlus Sunnah w’al-Jama’ah have given many different reasons in the returning of Prophet Jesus Peace be upon him to this world or the second time. A few are listed below:

    1) The Jews believe that they had killed Prophet Jesus Peace be upon him, Allah will send him before the end of time to prove that they had not killed him and that he is alive. It is he who will kill the Jews and their leader Dajjal. (Fathul – Bari)

    2) Some Ulama have said that Prophet Jesus Peace be upon him found many virtues of the followers of Prophet Muhammad Peace and blessings be upon him in the bible and thus he prayed to Allah to make him amongst the Ummah of Prophet Muhammad Peace and blessings be upon him. Allah answered his prayer and he will return for the second time as one of the followers of Prophet Muhammad Peace and blessings be upon him. (Ibn-Kathir)

    3) It is the Law of Allah that anything that is created from the Earth has to be buried in the Earth and not the Heavens. Thus he will return to the Earth for the second time, kill the Dajjal, live for a period of time and then he will die a natural death and will be buried with the Prophet Muhammad Peace and blessings be upon him. (Ashratus-Sa’ah).

Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) and the Ya’juj Ma’juj (Gog Megog)

A short period after Prophet Jesus Peace be upon himhas killed the Dajjal, the two mighty tribes of Yajuj and Ma’juj will appear, causing murder, pillage and devastation wherever they go. The emergence of Ya’juj and Ma’juj is also another major sign of Qiyamah. Through the invocation of Prophet JesusPeace be upon him they will be destroyed. (Nawwas-b-Samaan-Muslim).

More detail regarding them follows in the next sign.

Prophet Jesus (Peace be upon him) as a Ruler

The Prophet Muhammad Peace and blessings be upon him said, “By him whose hands my life is in, surely the son of Maryam will come down amongst you as a just ruler. He will break the cross, kill the pigs, and abolish the tax. Wealth will be in such abundance that none will care about it and a single prostration in a Prayer will be better than the world and all that is in it.” (Abu Huraira/Bukhari, Muslim)

The above hadith clearly indicates that when Prophet Jesus Peace be upon him returns to the world for the second time he will not reign as a Prophet nor will he bring a new Shariah or Deen, as Islam is the last religion, the Quran is the last book to be revealed and our Prophet Muhammad Peace and blessings be upon him is the last Prophet. There is no Prophet to come after him and the Quran has made this fact very clear.

Allah says in the Qur’an, “Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him) is not the father of any of you but is the Messenger of Allah and the last of the Prophets.”(Surah-Al-Ahzaab)

When Prophet Jesus Peace be upon him returns for the second time he will reign as a Khalif and not a Prophet, follow the Qur’an and Sunnah and rule according to it. He will break the cross the Christians worship (indicating that he will bring Christianity to an end), elevate and spread Islam through out the world.

He will also kill the pig which the Christians consider Halaal (lawful) to eat (and use) and abolish the Jizya (tax). In Prophet Jesus’s (Peace be upon him) reign they will not pay this tax because he will not accept anything but Islam for the non believers and they will all believe in him. The Qur’an says, “There is not a single section of the people of the book (Jews and Christians) but will believe in him and on the Day of Resurrection he will be a witness against them.” (Surah-An-Nisa)

Secondly there will be an abundance in wealth, so much so that it will flow like water and there will not remain anybody who could be given this money, thus this tax will be abolished.

Blessings at the time of Prophet Jesus (Peace be upon him)

All types of spiritual and worldly blessings will descend on Earth in his time. Wealth will flow like water, everyone will be independent and have surplus wealth and property to the extent that nobody will be in the need of Zakat and Sadaqa thus receiving of Zakat and Sadaqa will be discarded.

All hearts will be free from misery, envy, malice, and jealousy. Each harmful animal will be made harmless. Camels will graze with the lions and the cheetahs with cattle. A little girl will chase a lion and make it run away from her like children chasing a puppy and this lion will not harm her.

Venom will be taken out from all venomous animals, a little boy will put his hand in a snake’s mouth, but it will not harm him. The Jackal will live with the sheep and protect them as if it were a sheep dog. Peace, harmony and tranquillity will prevail in the world.

People will be in complete agreement, wars will cease, the earth will be filled with peace like a silver basin and it will sprout with vegetation like at the time of Prophet Adam Peace be upon him. The fertility of the land will increase to the extent that if a seed is planted in a rock, it will sprout. 700 mudd of wheat will sprout without ploughing the land. The earth will produce so much fruit that a large group of people will sit to eat a bunch of grapes or a pomegranate and they will be satisfied and use it’s peel as an umbrella. There will also be blessing in milk. The milk of a single she camel will be sufficient to satisfy the hunger of a large group of people. A cow will produce what is sufficient for a tribe of people, and a sheep will produce milk, which is sufficient for a family of people. Horses will be cheap as they will be never ridden in war and bulls will be expensive, as they will be needed to plough the land.

Life will be very pleasant and enjoyable after his descension and the Muslims will live in comfort in his reign as a Khalifh. (Nawwas-b-Sarnaan-Muslim/Abu Umamah-Ibne Majah)

    Marriage

Many Ahadith specify that after his descension he will get married and have children and remain on the earth for a period of 19 years after his marriage. (Al-Fitan Nuaim bin Hammad).

    Death

Prophet Jesus Peace be upon him after his return to the Earth for a second time will live for a period of time (some scholars have mentioned 40 years in the light of a hadith which can be found in Abu Daud) and thereafter will die a natural death. The Muslims will perform his Janaza (funeral prayers) and according to the hadith narrated by Abdullah bin Amr in Mishkat he will be buried next to the Holy Prophet Muhammad Peace and blessings be upon him.

  2. SMiLes.. SOHEIR
    sadly.. reading
    prophecy literally
    doesn’t leave
    God much
    freedom..
    in other words
    in other words…
    not likely that anyone
    out of Muslim or Christian
    Religions would recognize
ISA if he comes back again..
    as he would
    likely be
    as Free as
    God
    WiLL
    have
    him be..
    anyway
    that’s what
    God tells me..
    i find the speaker
    interesting and good
    humored and friendly..
    and have complimented
    his interpretations before..
    like the Island
    and God
    existing
    on the Island
    without any books..
    but there are gonna
    be problems if Jesus
    comes back deaf
    blind
    and mute..
    After All.. God
    can do anything
    with God’s children..
    THAT would be less of
    a miracle than a woman
    being fertilized by something
    other than
    sperm..
    i don’t need
    no magic tricks
    by God for faith..
    belief.. or hope..
    or tests of GOD..
    as such.. now..
    God is Real
    to me and
    magic
    but
    i do not portend
    to understand that
    magic in literal tricks
out of a hat or with
    invisible
    sperm
    with respect
    of course.. now..
    one thing great about
the Catholic Pope Francis is he
says all God’s children are one
    regardless of religion.. and God
tests us here for our God given
    potential… and science is totally
    compatible with God.. including
    evolution.. however.. of course
he will tell one that a virgin
    birth is possible too and
    contradict himself
    on the other
    point..
    and will say
    that humans are taking
    too much from Nature and
    insist that all Catholics must
    not practice birth control…
    oh yeah.. and he
    says Jesus
    is the ONLY
    begotten SON
    of GOD too…
    God gave me
    a brain
    and i
    use it..
    God gave me
    creativity
    and i see
    magic
    enough
    iN that..
and no.. i do not see/feel aLL..
so perhaps there was a virgin
    birth.. and perhaps Jesus will
come back just like the Kuran
    says he will.. or perhaps
    he is even God above
    all other humans..
    again.. i do not
    portend to
    know/feel
    the will/
    way of
    God
    alone..
    God tells
    me none
    of that
    is true..
    but i can
    always be
    incorrect as
    i am too humble
    to suggest i kNow/feel anything
as THE final words.. too.. still..
i am confident in no one
    who says
    they do..
    but i will
    continue to listen..
    watch.. and wait..
    to see and
    feel what
    happens
    next.. as yes..
    we live in very
    interesting times
    as alWays now…
    Here’s the point..
    i believe in prophecy
too.. but i do not believe
    any one human owns it..
    otherwise it’s just a self
    fulfilling prophecy by
    humans who
    enjoy
    control
    more than
    God’s Freedom
    as given to every human
    as equal employer opportunities
to work for God.. there is a God of
    merit.. that shows throughout all
of Nature.. it is highly unlikely anyone
    gets a free ride
    just based
    on who they
    are.. chances
    are if Jesus
    the REAL MAN
    JESUS CAME
    back today
    he would
    have
    to do
    MUCH MUCH
    GREATER THINGS
    than before to even
    get noticed.. and not
    not myths.. real stuff..
and of course if it didn’t
    match literal words.. the
    expectations of others..
    he would
    simply
    come
    like
    a thief in the
    night.. but sure
    that’s how most
    prophets come..
    unrecognized by
    those who
    live
    with
    them..
    or very
    close.. thanks
    SOHEIR.. ALWAYS
    interesting to
    come here
    and visit
    with
    you..
    several
    thousand miles
    way but well worth
it for both spirit and friend..:)

  3. Hello Fred dear friend!
The matter for me is not a matter of human prophecy..
It is a God rvealation ..
God tells us about the future in Quoran..
Mohammad is just saying what is revealed on him.
It is difficult for you to believe that Quoran is God’s words.
    Never mind my friend!
You believe that there is only one God who creates every thing…that is great indeed!
Anyway thanks for passing by and comment!
    Smiles!

  4. SMiLes my friend.. i do not speak Arabic.. so you and my other Muslim friends have helped me understand concepts in the Kuran that are not clear in the English translations.. so i welcome your information here.. and appreciate it very much.. i am your friend but i come here for serious study of the Kuran as well.. from the Arabic Language point of view.. and you obviously have a passion to share that information…

Quite frankly.. as a weathered human i see Muhammad as a warrior.. a successful one.. and a man heavily influenced by his culture at that time.. never the more though or less.. just a human being.. and subject to the same human frailties we all are.. and yes.. it is obvious that Jesus and all the other prophets are no more or less than this.. to me at least.. from my intense studies of them all…

There is some beautiful Truth and light in the Kuran that i appreciate from the English Translations i have read.. and also some better ones when the Arabic is explained by experts in the study of the Kuran.. which i have linked on my blog in defense of the positive aspects of the Kuran.. but.. and a significant but..

It is clear to me that everything in the Kuran is NOT the Truth and liGht.. specifically the verses accepting human slavery.. subjugation of women in value in comparison to men.. and slaves as having less value.. and again.. having humans slaves in any way shape or form.. as well as obvious other selfish considerations.. like a woman is gonna receive a curse from Angels if she is not in the mood to have sex at night..

NO.. women are NOT sex robots.. unless they are forced or coerced into that.. with threats of curses from Angels and such as that.. just a form of verbal rape is what that is… without punches.. and bruises.. but psychological anguish from women who are not hot to trot all the time…. Many are NOT.. . so it becomes a service of subjugation.. when this is the case…

This is obviously selfish human greed and historical cultural conditions at work.. no more no less.. If you can somehow justify how this is different in your Arabic interpretations of the Kuran.. i would appreciate that.. as quite frankly i find it disgusting from a God point of view.. in how this is translated in the English Version of the Kuran.. .

And those who have condoned this type of behavior will face the judgement of God alone… but again.. that’s what God tells me.. i am only human so.. again.. i will never rise to say i have the last or first word as only has God has that.. without any human involvement at all…

It’s just my opinion.. with God backing me up..

I do not expect you to believe that.. of course..

But discussion of the positive and negative aspects are the only way to grow
in understanding.. the questions others may have but will not ask because
they are afraid of offending you.. or other Muslims.. i Love you.. as a human being.. so i don’t have to fear that.. and of course God has my back.. so i don’t have to fear anything at ALL.. except for heights.. as God has other plans for me now.. instead of falling…

When any human is raised up on a pedestal to have received the last or first word of God alone.. Misery and Suffering of human beings is always the result.. history shows this fact over and over again.. All someone who is psychopathic leaning has to do.. is threaten punishment if one questions what has been said or written before..

i see through psychopaths both eye to eye and in written words my friend.. no matter how old or new they are.. that is my special gift from God.. as empath.. for both devil and angel.. same.. and all ‘tween… but sure just ‘tween me and God.. too.. as ONE Force now.. with all others too.. and the rest of Nature ALL.. GOD’s domain..:)

  5. Welcome my dear friend:-)
When you discuss issues in Quoran that doesnot offend me or make me angry..
On the contrary what you said now proved a reality that was absent to me..
That reality is that I became sure now you did not read the Quoran as you told me before..lam now sure of that…
I do not say that you are a lier …
But it seems obvious to me that you do not know the difference between what is written in the holy Quoran and in the other books which is called ( Hadith) or wisedom of prophet Mohammad…
There is no verse in the whole Quran that gives the meaning of slavery of women or obliging women to do sex by force…
These are weak sayings people mentioned on the tongue of Mohammad…perhaps true or not..but in Qoran there is no verse about that my friend!
Do not Listen and then talk Fred…
Read the whole book of Quoran ..then discuss what you read my friend…
I welcome any discussion but with clues my friend..
Give me the sentence in Quoran and the chapter…and I will accept your opinion my friend!
    Welcome and smiles!

  6. SMiLes my friend.. SOHEIR.. i understand that Cursing a Wife with Angels for not having sex.. is not specifically in the Kuran and that is why i called it ‘OTHER selfish considerations’.. as it is one of the most ridiculous things i have heard in my life.. Hadith.. Kuran.. or wherever else.. such foolishness comes from…

i didn’t expect that to confuse you as you are well versed in the Kuran.. of course..

Sorry for not making it MORE clear than OTHER SELFISH CONSIDERATIONS that it was specifically a Hadith related instruction…

However.. that is A smallest of offense AGAINST GOD.. AND GOD’S CHILDREN.. compared to what IS in the Kuran as translated in English below.. both about having sex with slaves.. and beating wives who are not compliant.. light beating is still beating. . end of case study below.. my friend.. FROM THE English translation of the Kuran.. waiting for your translation.. interpretation.. different.. if any.. of course…

AND slaves who are captured in war DO NOT WILLINGLY HAVE sex with their captors.. only a FOOL and LIAR would believe they do.. except for the oddest of exceptions..

And trust me for those men who DID THAT IF there is any HELL.. they are burning there.. in God’s terms of course… and from what i know and FEEL of REAL HELL.. i wouldn’t wanna be them.. when they are there too.. where a thousand years is one second of REAL HELL NOW…

AND no.. i am not angry with you about this but yes.. trust me or not.. GOD is VERY ANGRY WITH MUHAMMAD for accepting this then.. IF HE DID.. AS translated in English here.. as only common sense dictates.. for folks WITH A HEART.. OF ANY KIND AT ALL…

Or would you suggest it is A OK for men who captures slaves to have sex with them.. if they are married.. to a loving woman.. when these slave women had loving husbands of their own.. before they were captured as sex slaves….

i can not believe you would.. but i am waiting for your opinion on that.. as no one has provided it to me yet when i ask.. the text goes silent…. and no.. it does not happen as often now.. but it still happens.. and these are the verses in the Kuran that oppressor rapists and other psychopathic leaning men use to JUSTIFY it..

THAT’s a problem we as human beings and children of GOD cannot afford to sweep under the carpet.. for base humanity as is.. around the world… now.. with all due respect.. i for one believe… when we say any man or woman has ALL the truth and liGht from GOD… in however they gain it…

Quran (33:50) – “O Prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers; and those (slaves) whom thy right hand possesses out of the prisoners of war whom Allah has assigned to thee”

Quran (23:5-6) – “..who abstain from sex, except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess…”

Quran (4:24) – “And all married women (are forbidden unto you) save those (captives) whom your right hands possess.”

Quran (24:32) – “And marry those among you who are single and those who are fit among your male slaves and your female slaves…”

Quran (2:178) – “O ye who believe! Retaliation is prescribed for you in the matter of the murdered; the freeman for the freeman, and the slave for the slave, and the female for the female.”

Quran (4.34) Men (those who are able to carry out their responsibilities) are the protectors and maintainers of women inasmuch as God has endowed some of people (in some respects) with greater capacity than others, and inasmuch as they (the men) spend of their wealth (for the family’s maintenance). Good, righteous women are the devoted ones (to God) and observant (of their husbands’ rights), who guard the secrets (family honor and property, their chastity, and their husband’s rights, especially where there is none to see them, and in the absence of men,) as God guards and keeps undisclosed (what should be guarded and private). As for those women from whose determined disobedience and breach of their marital obligations you have reason to fear, admonish them (to do what is right); then, (if that proves to be of no avail), remain apart from them in beds; then (if that too proves to be of no avail), beat them lightly (without beating them in their faces). Then, if they obey you (in your directing them to observe God’s rights and their marital obligations), do not seek ways against them (to harm them). (Be ever mindful that) God is indeed All-Exalted, All-Great.

  7. I read these verses in the holy Quran and yes they are in the Koran but they have their interpretations in the translated books…
I do not remember the names of the chapters
So give me some time to explain the reason for these verse and how Mohammad applied them practically in his life..
    Thank you so much Fred!

  8. SMiLes.. my friend.. i appreciate that very much..
and look forward to your research and opinions..
trust me.. i can read something as small as
the Kuran.. 80K.. or so words..
    in one small sitting..
    and write it in a
    matter of weeks..
    in deeper prose
    and poetry..
    and of course
    any book
    of poetry
    is worth
    reading more than
    once… i have read these
    verses an innumerable
    amount of nows with
    ease.. with depth
    of understanding
    too my friend..
    from what
    is available
    in English to me..
    as you might imagine..
    knowing what i am
    capable of
    in
    BLACK
    AND WHITE
    print.. with
    all the
    colors
    too..
    wInks..
    i try to stay
    humble.. but GOD
    gives me great gifts..
so i continue to try.. to
    restrain the highs

    my friend SOHEIR..
    it is true and
    Universal Truth..
    i for one believe
    that any true prophet
of God will not raise him or
    herself any higher
    than a grain
    of sand..
    as the
    Truth and
    liGht iS Now..
    that Grain of

    And as you may notice..
in my blogs.. i have been
    sharing scriptures from the
    New Testament about the
    prophet Jesus.. and truly
    in what they call these
    40 days of Lent..
    through Easter
    are the days
    attributed to
    Jesus’ test in the
    desert where the Devil
    tempted Jesus to escape
    life through death.. in
    metaphor of course
    same as what
    happened with
    Moses in the desert
    40 days then 40 years
    learning never ever
    to give
    up on
    God’s
    grace.. and
    truly that there
    are somethings in life
    harder than death if one
reAlly iS to become a true
    soldier as servant of GOD…
Yeah.. i’ve met the Devil face
to face.. too.. the Devil iS real
    and pArt
    of God
    too…
    same challenge
    for me.. my friend
    same time of year..
    for precisely
    40 days and
    nights
    of sleepless
    challenge..
    pain.. and
    paper
    thin
    existence..
    beyond now..
    most human
    comprehension
    and same then..
    last temptation
    from the Devil
    real who
    can live
    in ALL
    of uS iN
    greaTEst
    Temptation now..
    of separation from GOD…
i dare to say no one would
    accept my heaven if they
    truly knew and felt what
    the hell was to
    get here
    now..
    iN heaven..
    i still hope
    to pave some
    spark of
    way for
    at

    to get to heaven now..
    much much easier my friend..

  11. I believe that the devil is a very weak creature…
We ourselves make him feel strong..
We have our weak side of course …
But the great inner belief of God that is in the hearts of the believers can conquer the devil easily…
We live in this life like the waves …sometimes high…sometimes low…
But our stronger side succeed at last.
I hope that our stronger side will be the side of true belief..so we can defeat devil easily….
In fact devil is not a part of God…but he swares to wage war against God…and God let him do so….cause God is sure of the result of this war.

    Simplicity is a gift sometimes..
I think everyone of us lives in the hell oneday..
Actually oneday I lived in the hell..
It was a very difficult experience..I will not tell you the details cause it is a personal experience..
During my being inside the hell I was enjoying something else that made me thank God for this hell…
I felt that God puts his hand on my shoulder and says ( I am here near you and I feel you)…and that was enough for me …
These were difficult days but they went away…and left good memory inside me..

When God came to me now over 30 plus years ago l was desolate as man had left me for dead and like a Good Samaritan here bore me up and cleansed my mind with his words – now l through his guidance use his word of peace, love and the truth to provide for others through the three – Beginning with Adam then Christ and at the end Ian

  16. Islam on slave girls/concubines

It is true that a lot of people push this subject ‘under the rug’ and do not understand it or are sometimes ashamed of this concept. That is because, today’s society and behavior is absolutely different from the conditions prevalent 1500 years ago at the time of Revelation of the Quran. There is no place on earth where this concept is practiced today, thus to really understand the concept in its entirety, we must try to imagine the times of the Revelation of the Glorious Quran.

Since time immemorial, slavery was an accepted practice; thus it was not Islam that started this practice, but rather Islam was the first system to inculcate the freedom of slaves and take steps to make them equal citizens of society. Slavery was abolished in modern society only a couple of centuries ago, and was openly practiced in almost all parts of the civilized world even until the early 1900s. But Islam made it a virtue to free slaves, and inculcate them into society as equal citizens, almost 1500 years ago

The prophet said regarding the rights of slaves:

Your servants and your slaves are your brothers. Anyone who has slaves should give them from what he eats and wears. He should not charge them with work beyond their capabilities. If you must set them to hard work, in any case I advise you to help them.

Source: Bukhari, Iman, 22; Adab, 44; Muslim, Iman, 38–40; Abu Dawud, Adab, 124

Ali reported that the last words of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, were: “The prayer! The prayer! Fear Allah concerning your slaves ! ”

    Source: Al-Adab al-Mufrad Al-Bukhari , Nr. 158.

    · Jabir ibn ‘Abdullah said, “The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, advised that slaves should be well-treated. He said, ‘Feed them from what you eat and clothe them from what you wear. Do not punish what Allah has created.’ ”

    Source: Al-Adab al-Mufrad Al-Bukhari , Nr. 188.

    · Sallam ibn ‘Amr reported from one of the Companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “Your slaves are your brothers, so treat him well. Ask for their help in what is too much for you and help them in what is too much for them.”

    Source: Al-Adab al-Mufrad Al-Bukhari , Nr. 190.

    · Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “The slave has his food and clothing. Do not burden a slave with work which he is incapable of doing.”

    Source: Al-Adab al-Mufrad Al-Bukhari , Nr. 192.

Not one of you should [ when introducing someone ] say ‘This is my slave’ , ‘This is my concubine’. He should call them ‘my daughter’ or ‘my son’ or ‘my brother’.

Source: Ibn Hanbal, Musnad, 2 ,4

For this reason ‘Umar and his servant took it in turns to ride on the camel from Madina to Jerusalem on their journey to take control of Masjid al-Aqsa. While he was the head of the state, ‘Uthman had his servant pull his own ears in front of the people since he had pulled his. Abu Dharr, applying the hadith literally, made his servant wear one half of his suit while he himself wore the other half. From these instances, it was being demonstrated to succeeding generations of Muslims, and a pattern of conduct established, that a slave is fully a human being, not different from other people in his need for respect and dignity and justice.

“The masters were obliged not to put slaves under hardship; slaves were not to be tortured, abused or treated unjustly. They could marry among “themselves with their master’s permission – or with free men or women ! They could appear as witnesses and participate with free men in all “affairs. Many of them were appointed as governors, commanders of army and administrators. In the eyes of Islam, a pious slave has precedence over “an impious free man.” Source: Al-Tabataba’i, Tafsir ( vol.16, pp. 338-358 )

The Prophet, had stipulated in his “last pilgrimage” speech:

“And your slaves ! see that you feed them such food as you eat yourselves and dress them what you yourself wear. And if they commit a “mistake which you are not inclined to forgive then sell them, for they are the servants of Allah and are not to be tormented! ”

    Source: Ibn Sa’d, op. cit., vol. II:1, p. 133

“Serve God, and join not any partners with Him ; and do good to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, those in need, neighbours who are near, neighbours “who are strangers, the Companion by your side, the way-farer (ye meet), And what your right hands possess : for God loveth not the arrogant, the “vainglorious” Surah An Nisa, verse 36

The phrase “What your right hands possess” refers to one’s slaves (male and female). Allah swt ordains the kind treatment of slaves in the same verse where He commands man to worship Him and to treat his parents, relations and neighbours generously, and this signifies the importance of this ruling.

What were the rights of concubines?

The status was similar to that of wife. The children were exactly like the other children from the person’s legally wedded wife. They were to be given exactly the same rights as his other children. The children of the slave girl would inherit the property exactly as the other children. There was absolutely no difference amongst the children. And once any slave girl bore a child, she could not be sold to anybody else and thus became a permanent member of the household.

Then you will probably ask how is this any different from the modern days concept of a mistress/prostitution/adultery?

There is a huge difference between the slave girls of those times and the system of prostitution which is so prevalent as a disease in today’s society.

The slave girl was a social issue of the times, which if not solved by Islam would give rise to adultery and prostitution. In prostitution, the woman sells here services for a fee to anyone who is willing to pay. The slave girl was taken into a household as a full member.

In prostitution, the woman has sexual relationships with many men. The slave girl would have sexual relations only with the person she was given to; very similar to the husband-wife relationship, the only difference being that the wife came into the house through a marriage contract, and the slave girl was allotted to the person by the state.

Prostitution is a result of illegal lust, and is a huge sin in the eyes of Allah.

The allocation of slave girls was a issue of the times to envelope the woman taken as slaves in a war into the Islamic society. Prostitution and adultery do not have any responsibility attached to it. The man- woman have a one-off relationship and depart. The slave girls were a responsibility of the person, who spent on them, gave them a place to live, fed them, clothed them, and raised their children as his children.

The children from adultery and prostitution are regarded as born out of wedlock and grow up without the name and without the shadow of a father. The children of the slave girls were known as the children of the person, grew up with his other children, and had exactly the same rights and inheritance as the other offspring. The system of slave girls was accepted and respected by the Islamic society of the times. The slave girl was treated like his wife, and the children from these slave girls were treated like their children by society. No religion, no state, no moral society accepts and respects the institutions of prostitution and adultery. This is a disease of society and every moral society has tried to eradicate this disease with little success.

Despite this, it was not simply a case of forcing someone into having sex to satisfy your desires.

Below are three English translations to the Verse where Allah commands the Muslim men to not force their slave women into sex.

The following translations were taken from http://mama.stg.brown.edu/webs/quran_browser/pqeasy.shtml

    Translation: Yusufali:

“Let those who find not the wherewithal for marriage keep themselves chaste, until God gives them means out of His grace. And if any of your slaves ask for a deed in writing (to enable them to earn their freedom for a certain sum), give them such a deed if ye know any good in them: yea, give them something yourselves out of the means which God has given to you. But force not your maids to prostitution when they desire chastity, in order that ye may make a gain in the goods of this life. But if anyone compels them, yet, after such compulsion, is God, Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful (to them), (The Noble Quran, 24:33)”

    Translation: Pickthall:

“And let those who cannot find a match keep chaste till Allah give them independence by His grace. And such of your slaves as seek a writing (of emancipation), write it for them if ye are aware of aught of good in them, and bestow upon them of the wealth of Allah which He hath bestowed upon you. Force not your slave-girls to whoredom that ye may seek enjoyment of the life of the world, if they would preserve their chastity. And if one force them, then (unto them), after their compulsion, lo! Allah will be Forgiving, Merciful. (The Noble Quran, 24:33)”

    Translation: Shakir:

“And let those who do not find the means to marry keep chaste until Allah makes them free from want out of His grace. And (as for) those who ask for a writing from among those whom your right hands possess, give them the writing if you know any good in them, and give them of the wealth of Allah which He has given you; and do not compel your slave girls to prostitution, when they desire to keep chaste, in order to seek the frail good of this world’s life; and whoever compels them, then surely after their compulsion Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. (The Noble Quran, 24:33)”

In all three translations, we clearly see that if the slave woman desires to keep chaste, then her Muslim master must not compel her into sex. It might sound odd to us today, but pagans back then were used to having sex with and raping their slave girls, even the ones who were married:

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: “Musaykah, a slave-girl of some Ansari, came and said: My master forces me to commit fornication. Thereupon the following verse was revealed: “But force not your maids to prostitution (when they desire chastity). (24:33)” (Translation of Sunan Abu Dawud, Divorce (Kitab Al-Talaq), Book 12, Number 2304)”

  18. SMiLes my friend.. thanks so much for the details of the historical context and I’ve already read similar defenses.. which are reasonable for the history in question.. However.. in God’s eyes.. Improvement of slavery or limited rights of men in subjection of slaves is not the God answer as God lives in every human being and to enslave any human being.. Even in requiring marriage by law for those children of God who are not biologically suited for marriage by the hand of God is to enslave God and this my friend while historically.. Obviously impossible to accomplish until 200 years ago.. Does not make any of it less of a sin in God’s eyes as God makes all God’s human children free.. So of course Muhammad will be forgiven for accepting the practice of slavery as is then but that did not come from God unless God is part slave.. i cannot possibly believe God is a slave my friend.. One only need to look at the rest of Nature to see that reality.. And that my friend is why i look to Nature for God instead of human language before i could speak at age three.. The only true bible of God is Nature untainted by the hand and mouth of human.. But give human credit.. Human history considered.. Of course Muhammad was a great prophet who improved the welfare of slaves in his instructions from God but the truth is there would be innumerable prophets after Muhammad to do even more and in the New Testament Jesus predicted this over 6 centuries before Muhammad.. And there is still much work to do my friend as all human prophets from the entire Universe as many and more as the grains of Sand of the Earth’s beaches continue to do.. So yes.. Peace be upon prophet Muhammad for the best he could do given historical context but In God’s eyes.. All such prophets both famous and totally unknown in human books are of equal value as all these grains hold up the mountain of God’s greatest gift Human feels as Love.. my friend.. where there will always be room for existing and future prophets to improve.. as Love is both art and science.. My friend.. Imran.. So my only disagreement given historical context is it is impossible in God’s eyes that either Muhammad will be the last prophet of God or the Quran the final book of God as no human can make God any kind of slave.. Including the parts of that are human as God is A to Z not just in book terms per literal but ALL.. Yes simple as ALL that is my friend and beyond any word’s comprehension for those of us who see and feel God with more than words.. My friend.. INFINITY more and beyond that word as well out of Submission to THE GOD OF ALL

    100% sure WEALL (have)

that is all a moot point to me..
    however.. not all folks have
met God face to face.. NOW..
    so they

    and honestly
    i feel sorry

    they will never ever

    that now is heaven now
and now is gift of God

    and with us NOW..
    and create iT.. thus..
    when we enjoy life
    we make God happy
    and when we harm anyone
    away from their relative free
WILL we make God very unhappy..
but to be clear i will never speak
    DIRECTLY for God or TEST
    God.. so sure..
    i could be
    incorrect in logical
    human terms but my

    FEELS
    i am
    100% sure
    that this is Truth
    and liGht.. and sure..
    Christians.. Muslims

    is beyond the
    realm

    that words DO NOT
    EXIST AT ALL
    BUT HUMAN
    IMAGINATION
    OTHER as
    created
    by human
    with God too..
    It’s all relative
    and never separated
    when one lives with
    GOD ALWAYS NOW..
    and to put it off..
    is the personal
    hell that some
    folks
    create
    for themselves
    who have either
    forgotten God
    or never
    SOUGHT..
    NOW..
    taken
    the effort
    to truly do
    so iN liGht..
    understanding
    and feeling the
    dARk as important
    as the liGht in maKinG
ALL of this that is REAL NOW..
    it’s almost futile to attempt
to discuss this in human words
    to make human words sense
of it.. but i try and keep
    trying to
    help others
    in finding
    some
    TRUST iN
    LOVE iN NOW..
    instead of waiting
    for something in
    the future when
    ALL iS alWays now..
    TO BE clear God
    is alWays now
    and so
    are wE
    and that’s
    ALL THAT
    COUNTS NOW..
    it’s simple.. walk
    the beach
    and be wiTh
    and as God
    as B E A C H F R E E..
    but first ya have to
    find the beach
    and learn
    and feel
    to walk
    as GODFREE..
    iN BALANCE ALLways

  23. Dear Bro Fred
I ve read your reply twice
But still you haven’t reply me

I asked to you do you believe that God can do anything?
    You said
    “Yes”
Then I asked two more questions
Can God throw you out from His dominion ?

    And

Can he created another uncreated God ?

Your reply was really peculiar and bizarre for me
I can help you God can not do anything
God must do Godly things not monkey tricks.
When God said Muhammad peace be upon Him a last prophet and messenger then he is the last one
And Quran is last revelation …then it is a last revelation.

Are we limiting god …what he can do and what He can’t do ?

  24. Imran I think we are having miscommunication here. Did you open up SOHEIRs website.. Look at all the comments.. And see where I made a new comment on the very bottom of the comments where I said it was a moot point?

And NO Muhammad is NOT the last prophet as only GOD has GOD’s FULL message as God speaks more than human flea language.. The Kuran is a revelation from God my friend but the message is flawed at core because it does not directly and clearly denounce human slavery in all forms and yes the Christian bible is flawed as well.. Particularly.. The Old Testament with flaws in the New Testament as well.. All words fall short of the glory of God and God allows each human to find God with zero human words and no little flea human will ever reveal all of God.. As ALL of God is beyond human comprehension.. You see my friend I have met the all mighty face to face and the Kuran is set up by men who have not.. Otherwise they would never limit God by suggesting more humans would never bring a better message.. And do greater works.. As even Jesus said they would continue to do.. As reported properly in the New Testament and in my comment at the end of this comments section I explained how we all are here forever now but as I clearly stated above I DO not test GOD or instruct the master by telling GOD what GOD cannot do because I for one have experienced many surprises.. Including real miracles that I never before knew was possible and when I describe those experiences perhaps another prophet has experienced them but that makes me no less or no more than ANY other human being who has walked the earth now.. God deals in much greater terms than human A to Z’s and first to lasts.. Greater than what little flea human currently terms as human words and whomever suggested Muhammad was the last suggested he was the best cause no human could reveal more of God and that my friend is the greatest sin of all.. Minds closed to more of what God has to reveal.. And history shows this clearly in the number of deaths in the belief some human brought the best and final revelation of God.. Prophets are everywhere my friend now.. WRite now.. And one will know and feel this if and when they meet more of God face to face..:)

  25. Hundred of times and enough to understand it is clearly flawed at core as it accepts human slavery and does not clearly and directly instruct human to wipe human slavery OFF the Earth NOW.. NO IFS OR BUTS or face the WRATH of God and that is MY REVELATION from GOD NOW and yep when that happens ALL CAPS come too with continued smiles and A CLEAR WARNING from GOD..:)

  26. Misconception: Islam and The Quran promotes slavery

Background: Some think that when Muslims conquered territory, slaves were often taken or that slavery is allowed in Islam.

When the Quran was revealed, slavery was in wide practice throughout the Arab World, thus, it would have been impractical and detrimental to place an immediate ban on the slave trade, forcing all slaves into unemployment/poverty. The Quran uses a better psychological approach to win people’s hearts in the struggle against slavery and all forms of discrimination by placing a strong emphasis on human dignity and equality and encouraging the freeing of slaves:

Did we not show him the two paths? He should choose the difficult path. Which one is the difficult path? The freeing of slaves. Feeding, during the time of hardship… [90:10-14]

Righteousness is not turning your faces towards the east or the west. Righteous are those who believe in God, the Last Day, the angels, the scripture, and the prophets; and they give the money, cheerfully, to the relatives, the orphans, the needy, the traveller, the beggars, and to free the slaves… [2:177]

The Quran lists the penalty for various misdemeanours as freeing of slaves, see 4:92, 5:89, 58:3. It also implies distribution of community/collective charities would contribute towards freeing of slaves:

The charities are to go to the poor, and the needy, and those who work to collect them, and those whose hearts have been united, and to free the slaves, and those in debt, and in the cause of God, and the traveller. A duty from God, and God is Knowledgeable, Wise.[9:60]

The only method mentioned in The Quran for gaining captives (more correctly termed ‘prisoners of war’, not slaves) is during warfare, after which they must be released or ransomed. Keeping them is not an option:

Therefore, if you encounter those who deny the truth (in warfare), then bring about the captives until when you have subdued/overcome them, then strengthen the bind. Then after either grace/favour or ransom, until the war lays down its burdens. That, and had God willed, surely He would have gained victory Himself from them, but He tests some of you with others. And those who get killed in the cause of God, He will never let their deeds be put to waste. [47:4]

Interestingly, in the above verse, it implies a preference for taking captives rather than killing the enemy in warfare.

As can clearly be seen, taking all of the above verses of The Quran into account, it would lead to a gradual reduction in slave numbers and eventually abolish slavery.

  28. The existence of slavery is an ancient condition. It existed long before the Qur’an was revealed to Muhammad, starting in 610 C.E. What is interesting is comparing the depiction of slavery in the Qur’an to the Old and New Testament. In these older Jewish and Christian holy texts, a specific plan to eliminate the human bondage of our temporal present is never discussed. The Qur’an, on the other hand, not only recognized the immorality of slavery in seventh century Arabia, but sought to end it. The plan to do so is both implicit and explicit. To recognize this is to respect the Islamic attempt, in the name of Allah, to destroy an evil custom nearly thirteen centuries before Americawould legally and politically do the same.

The Qur’an is a pragmatic book. It recognizes that a negative institution that is deeply part of Arabic culture could not be eliminated instantly, with a single surah: “Slavery was widely prevalent inArabia at the time of the advent of Islam, and the Arab economy was based on it” (Hassan 374). Instead, repetition of thoughts is often used that either collectively make God’s plan apparent, or build from criticism to condemnation. An example of the latter is how the Qur’an gradually forbids the consumption of intoxicating substances:

They ask you concerning wine . . . Say: “In them is great sin, and some profit, for men; but the sin is greater than the profit.” (2:219)

O you who believe! do not approach prayers with a mind befogged, until you can understand all that you say . . . (4:43)

O you who believe! intoxicants . . . are an abomination, – of Satan’s handiwork: eschew such (abomination), that you may prosper. Satan’s plan is (but) to excite enmity and hatred between you, with intoxicants . . . and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah, and from prayer: will you not then abstain? (5:90-91)

The Qur’an is always aware of humanity’s resistance to change. Fiery pronouncements may be more dramatic and gain immediate results, but water wisdom seems to be the path of Allah (rivers and streams are persistent images in the Qur’an); the Muslim has old habits and prejudices washed and eroded away, while simultaneously getting cleansed and purified. Extending this water metaphor, we can see how Islam will end slavery: with subtle trickles of revelation and rules that only become an unstoppable river when seen in context as a whole.

First, we will examine Qur’anic passages that specifically describe releasing slaves:

It is not righteousness that you turn your faces toward East or West; but it is righteousness . . . to spend of your substance . . . for the ransom of slaves. (2:177)

Never should a Believer kill a Believer; but (if it so happens) by mistake, (compensation is due): if one (so) kills a Believer, it is ordained that he should free a believing slave, and pay compensation to the deceased’s family . . . For those who find this beyond their means, (is prescribed) a fast for two months running: by way of repentance to Allah. (4:92)

Allah will not call you to account for what is futile in your oaths, but will call you to account for your deliberate oaths: for expiation, feed ten indigent persons . . . or clothe them; or give a slave his freedom. If that is beyond your means, fast for three days. (5:89)

Alms are for the poor and the needy, and those employed to administer the (funds); . . . for those in bondage and in debt . . . (9:60)

But for those who divorce their wives . . . then wish to go back on the words they uttered, – (it is ordained that such a one) should free a slave before they touch each other: this you are admonished to perform . . . And if any has not (the wherewithal), he should fast for two months consecutively before they touch each other. But if any is unable to do so, he should feed sixty indigent ones. (58:3-4)

Verily We have created Man into toil and struggle. . . . And what will explain to you the path that is steep? – (It is:) freeing the bondman . . . (90:4-13)

There are several important facts to glean from these verses. First, freeing slaves is shown as clearly an easier choice of penance, whether in expenditure of money or physical effort, when compared to fasting (from three days to two months) or feeding or clothing the poor (from ten to sixty people). Therefore, freeing slaves seems to be the choice that Allah prefers Muslims to take, since the All-Powerful always desires Muslims to avoid faith-tasks that overburden them, whenever possible. This also shows the importance of ending slavery for Muslims by determining the equivalence of freeing a slave with seemingly the more difficult tasks (part of Surah 90’s “steep path”) of fasting, or feeding and clothing many of the poor. Indeed, one slave is equal to days or months of fasting, or feeding/clothing ten or sixty needy persons. The Qur’an’s statistical analysis of slaves is important to note. Another example of this is the punishment of female slaves if they are found guilty of promiscuousness: “if they fall into shame, their punishment is half that of free women” (4:25). “In making such a distinction,” Riffat Hassan writes, “the Qur’an while upholding high moral standards . . . reflects God’s compassion for women slaves who were socially disadvantaged” (373-374). In quantitative logic, Allah constantly and consistently shows a preference of freeing slaves over other penances, even giving slaves more compassion than free Muslims.

Secondly, as 2:177 and 9:60 shows, Islamic society is directed to create a permanent fund for freeing those in bondage. This is an example of the Qur’an’s pragmatism. These particular verses do not argue if people should not be slaves on principle. Instead, the Qur’an talks to the Muslims that consider slaves property; and, like any assets that are “lost,” want compensation for freeing them. Very well, you can almost hear the Qur’an say, here is your money, if you need a reason to free them. But, it would be better if you freed them without compensation, if you only knew. Finally, putting the above verses in context with the rest of the Qur’an is important. Nowhere can you find verses that prescribe slavery as punishment, that creates slaves. The freeing of slaves even includes those gained in war with the enemy, Muslim and non-Muslim alike (Maudoodi 187). In fact, by freeing POWs, the elimination of slavery was unavoidable, since “[t]he major source of slaves – men and women – was prisoners of war” (G.A. Parwez, qtd. in Hassan 375). Allah’s mathematical intent is clear. By having rules for reducing the amount of slaves instead of rules adding more to the total, the phasing out of human bondage will inevitably occur.

Other verses address the treatment of slaves. “The believers must (eventually) win through, – Those who . . . abstain from sex, except those joined to them in the marriage bond” (23:1-6) is an indictment against sex with slaves. “When slavery existed in early Islam and the master had sexual rights over his slaves,” Fathi Osman writes, “Islam,as part of its plan to gradually end slavery, commanded that a sexual relation with a slave was lawful only through marriage” (840, my italics). “[T]hey may wed [believers] from among those whom your right hands possess,” the Qur’an tells us (4:25); it also implores us to “Marry those among you who are single, or the virtuous ones among your slaves, male or female” (24:32). A slave is equally fit for marriage as a freeperson, the beginning of a process that asks: if slaves and freepersons are equal for marriage, why are they not therefore equal in other ways? The condemnation of forcing slaves to have sex with their masters (or others) is also stressed: “[D]o not force your maids to prostitution when they desire chastity” (24:33).

Earlier in the same verse indicated above, the Qur’an gives more details on the emancipation of slaves. Muslims should not only grant them freedom, but help them financially so that they may begin their new life with dignity:

And if any of your slaves ask for a deed in writing (to enable them to earn their freedom for a certain sum), give them such a deed if you know any good in them; yes, give them something yourselves out of the means which Allah has given to you. (24:33)

“According to the Quran, and the juristic inference from it,” Osman writes, “helping the slave to become free is an individual and social obligation” (851). The end of the verse is a warning to the person who believes what he or she owns – whether it is personal riches, or slaves – as belonging “only” to him or her, accomplished without outside help: “The Quran here reminds the individual and the society that the wealth they have belongs initially to God . . . and any individual or society is only entrusted by God with the wealth and has to deal with it . . . according to God’s guidance” (Osman 852). Ownership becomes a temporary privilege, not a permanent right:

Allah has bestowed His gifts of sustenance more freely on some of you than on others: those more favored are not going to throw back their gifts to those whom their right hands possess, so as to beequal in that respect. Will they then deny the favors of Allah? (16:71, my italics)

The Qur’an’s equalization of slave and master works to further eliminate any distinction between the two in the eyes of Allah:

[W]ith regard to those whom “one’s right hand possess,” an authentic tradition of the Prophet indicates that they are merely brothers whom God has placed under one’s authority and they should all eat the same food and be equally clothed. Morever, they should not be required to do what would over-burden them, otherwise the one who has them himself/herself should help in such a case. (Osman 781-782)

    M. Umaruddin’s description of Muhammad echoes the above:

He led an absolutely frugal and temperate life, subsisting on the simplest fare, consisting mainly of dates and barley. He patched his own sandals and repaired his own clothes. He meted out equal treatment to all, free or slave. . . . No Muslim, says the Prophet, is a believer unless he desires for his brethren what he desires for himself. This injunction is one of the corner-stones of the moral order of Islam. (45, my italics)

This “corner-stone” of Islam, this equality for all men and women, is perhaps the main teaching of the Qur’an. In a verse quoted earlier that allowed Muslims to marry a slave, it continues: “Allah has full knowledge about your Faith. You are one from another” (4:25). (Osman translates the last sentence as “each one of you is (equally) a part of the same wholeness” [849].) In an earlier verse, this phrase is repeated; it is the work of the Believer that will be judged, not whether the work comes from master or slave, man or woman:

[Allah tells them:] “Never will I suffer to be lost the work of any of you, be he male or female: you are members, one of another . . . verily, I will blot out from them their iniquities, and admit them into Gardens with rivers flowing beneath; – a reward from the Presence of Allah, and from His Presence is the best of rewards.” (3:195)

Of the equality of humanity, Muhammad could not be more explicit:

The sermon of the Holy Prophet on the occasion of his last pilgrimage declares: “All men are like brothers: the black has no superiority over the red, nor has an Arab any preferential claim on a non-Arab. All are sons of Adam and Adam was made out of clay.” This was in fact a charter of equality and freedom for the enslaved people of the world from whom loyalties of diverse types were expected. The doctrine of tauhid (Unity of God) broke all these chains. (Dar 19)

[Muhammad] releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them. So it is those who believe in him, honor him, help him, and follow the Light which is sent down with him, – it is they who will prosper. (7:157)

  34. Yeah dude.. And when Muhammad first started hearing voices he thought he was mad.. Like I said.. God’s messengers act in mysterious ways.. According to modern science all prophets who heat voices are psychologically sick.. Like i said.. GOD laughs at human proof and science is a flea or less.. Either that or all prophets are just sick in the head.. Ha! i laugh at human proof and science too as neither rules either me or God and i’m sure Muhammad and Jesus would agree with me.. Not the men who wrote the books.. The real men Jesus and Muhammad.. Even Muhammad’s closest male friend disputed the Kuran as flawed from Muhammad’s original words and that my friend is why i look to God and write my own bible.. Human memory is flawed except for those gifted with photographic memory and even that memory is not perfect.. Again my friend.. all stuff associated with human fall short oF the FULLER Glory of GOD ALLONE.. End and beginning now oF God Story..:)
